About Curious Explorers

Hello, I’m Lucy, the owner of Curious Explorers, and I would like to personally welcome you to our preschool.

Curious Explorers has been a very special part of my life for many years. I first joined the preschool in 2000 when I began my Early Years training and, in 2005, I was fortunate enough to take over the ownership. Since then, I have watched many children grow, learn and flourish, and have had the privilege of welcoming lots of families through our doors.

I have always wanted Curious Explorers to feel like a home from home – somewhere children feel safe, happy, loved and comfortable being themselves. We are a close and caring team, and we take the time to get to know every child and their family individually.

We believe childhood should be filled with fun, friendship, curiosity and plenty of opportunities to explore. Our children are encouraged to learn through play, develop their confidence and independence, and most importantly, enjoy their time with us.

Choosing a preschool is a big decision, and we want parents to feel just as welcome and comfortable as their children. Our door is always open, and we are proud of the warm little community we have created together.

Our Approach to Learning

At Curious Explorers, we believe that young children learn best when they are happy, confident and having fun.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), but our approach is relaxed, child-centred and led by the individual needs and interests of each child.

Our children are given plenty of opportunities to play, explore, investigate, create and discover. Whether they are building, painting, sharing stories, enjoying messy play, singing and dancing, exploring outdoors or simply playing with their friends, they are developing important skills along the way.

We encourage children to make choices, try new things, solve problems and become increasingly independent, while always having the reassurance and support of our caring team when they need it.

We recognise that every child develops at their own pace. By getting to know each child really well and working closely with their family, we can provide experiences that support their individual development while celebrating their personalities, interests and achievements.

Above all, we want to nurture a love of learning that begins with curiosity – because at Curious Explorers, we believe the best learning starts with a little exploring.

Bromstone

Our Bromstone setting is located within the grounds on Bromstone Junior School, Rumfields Road, Broadstairs offering a secure and stimulating environment for toddlers between the ages of 2 and 5, a home-from-home learning environment.
